Banking System Conversion

HAMILTON MEMBERS

which gives you all the details you need to guide you through the conversion process.

 Dear Members,

Happy Canada Day!

This long weekend we are going to take the opportunity to finalize the merger between Ukrainian Credit Union Limited and United Ukrainian Credit Union by converting our members in Hamilton to our banking system.

This will mean some brief disruption of service. Between Saturday, June 29, 2013 and Monday, July 1, 2013, as we convert the former United Ukrainian Credit Union (UUCU) members to Acumen™, the state-of-the art banking system used by Ukrainian Credit Union Limited. Internet and telephone banking systems will also be unavailable during this time.

Our banking system is the engine of your credit union. During the Conversion Period, we will be integrating all your financial vehicles: internet banking, ATM, and telephone banking channels to ensure that the transition is seamless.

During this Conversion Period if at any point in time you have a question we would strongly encourage you to either contact the Call Centre where a qualified specialist will assist you with a quick resolution or simply email the Call Centre at ucuconversion@ukrainiancu.com, if this is more convenient. There will also be updated information posted on our website – www.ukrainiancu.com.

Please note that the Bloor West Village and Mississauga branches which are usaully open till 2pm on Saturdays will close one hour early on June 29 at 1pm in order to accommodate the conversion schedule.

We thank you for your patience.

Additional details on how services will be affected during the conversion

CONVERSION PERIOD SERVICE HOURS

Branches Closed
Call Centre Open for Extended Hours

The consolidation of member data from one system to another is a huge undertaking and it will be necessary to limit services for two consecutive days to complete all required testing.

The last day that you will be able to get in-branch counter service in Hamilton will be: Friday June 28, 2013.  Please plan ahead. If you foresee any difficulties with bill payments, EFT’s, etc., please contact your Branch so that the appropriate plan of action can be put into place.  This should be done prior to Friday June 28, 2013.

BRANCHES:
The Branch will be closed on Sunday, June 30 and Monday, July 1 to allow for the conversion.   We refer to these two days as our Conversion Period.

The Branch will re-open at its regular time on Tuesday July 2, 2013.

ACCOUNT ACCESS:
Despite the branch being closed, you still will be able to access your funds through an ATM or by Interac™ Direct Payment (Point-Of-Sale).  You can also write cheques using your existing stock, use your UUCU MasterCard®, and for most of the Conversion Period, obtain updates from credit union websites on the state of the conversion.

CALL CENTRE:
The Call Centre exists to answer any questions or concerns you may have about your account.

CALL CENTRE CONTACT INFORMATION

During the Conversion Period, they will be extending their hours:

Hamiton's BBQ is Right Around the Corner!

Building Community - It's what we are all about

Angela Andlar, manager of UCU's
Sudbury branch presents a
donation to Mary Stefura
of the Sudbury Ukrainian
Seniors' Home
You may have noticed in the last couple of weeks we have been posting a lot of photos on our Facebook page with staff and board members presenting donations to various groups in our community.

Mississauga Branch presents a
donation to Dorota Cziupel
of Carassauga's Ukraine Pavilion
Providing financial support to community groups is a big part of who we are and is very important to Ukrainian Credit Union Limited. Credit unions have historically been one of the largest supporters of the community. Why? Well, as financial institutions we obviously have some money. But more importantly, as community members support us, so we in turn are able to support the community. It is very encouraging to us when in the course of making donations we meet tons of people who really get this simple concept - the more business we as a community do with the credit unions, the more credit unions such as Ukrainian Credit Union Limited are able to support the community.

accepts a sponsorship cheque from
UCU Marketing Director Yuriy Diakunchak
Over the course of the year we donate money, resources and volunteer hours to hundreds of different groups and projects from schools and dance groups, to churches and hospitals, to sports groups and service clubs, and much much more. Check out our annual reports to see all of the groups that we support.

Protection  Church
But it doesn't just stop there. We also support the community with various other means such as our scholarship program. You can read about it in this article published by New Pathway newspaper UCU 2013 Scholarship Awards Gala. And you can see a bunch of photos from the event on our FB page. We also support younger students through our Matura Video contest which we jointly operate with Western Union. You can see a bunch of photos about that event on our FB page as well in the Matura Ball 2013 album. You can see some of the videos submitted to this contest over the years on our YouTube channel.

For many organizations, we are the only financial institution making contributions. Speak with your local church or dance group, sadochok or Saturday school, SUM, SUMK or Plast branch, about how much they receive from the big banks in financial support. Zero? That's our guess too. So come help us close the circle, bring your business to us and help us continue providing financial support to the community organizations that are important to YOU.

To see many more recent donation presentations, visit the Donation Presentation photo album on our FB page.
