Supporting our community does not necessarily mean simply donating money to various organizations and causes. It also means helping the most academically worthy and socially active of our members finance their education costs. This year we were able to reward 9 of the applicants for our various scholarships.

Congratulations to the scholarship winners. Indeed UCU is doing a great job, of awarding the students with the scholarships. However we the needy students are still many so i would like to call upon all well wishers to continue supporting ucu with the funds so that it can continue helping the needy students. Thanks a lot u have really made ucu a center of excellence in the heart of Africa, may the almighty God reward you abundantly.

Thank you for the kind words Laurens. And while we would very gladly take the credit for the good works of UCU in Africa, unfortunately we can't. We're pretty certain that the group who can take the credit is the UCU that can be found at this address http://www.ucu.ac.ug, but if not then we'll gladly post a correction! However, in another interesting twist, Irena Doubelt, one of the students who received a scholarship from us this year spent some time last year volunteering at the Accra Police Hospital in Ghana, so there is a connection however tenuous.
